Runner, 27, Dies of Cardiac Issues During Minneapolis Half Marathon

Blake Groulx collapsed near the end of the race, just days before his two-year anniversary with his partner.

Blake Groulx, 27, collapsed around the 11-mile mark of the City of Lakes Half Marathon in Minneapolis.
Despite immediate CPR efforts by fellow runners and first responders, Groulx was pronounced dead at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.
Groulx's family attributes his death to cardiac issues and encourages heart health screenings in his memory.
Groulx was an active individual who enjoyed running, hiking, and other sports, and was employed as a packaging engineer at General Mills.
His passing occurred just a week before he and his partner, James Menden, were to celebrate their two-year anniversary.
