  • Jagex has opened a 14-day in-game vote that will remove Treasure Hunter if at least 100,000 players back the change, with voting open through November 12.
  • Early participation was strong, with over 42,000 yes votes reported within hours of the poll going live.
  • If the threshold is met, Treasure Hunter and roughly 225 gameplay-benefiting items such as XP lamps, Proteans, Portables, and Dummies will be withdrawn from sale, with an amnesty period for existing items.
  • Direct purchases would be limited to cosmetics and Bonus XP, with new per-skill storage caps intended to curb pay-to-skip progression while retaining an option some time-poor players value.
  • Jagex CEO Jon Bellamy acknowledged past monetization eroded game integrity and pledged a year-long Integrity Roadmap if the vote passes, with a broader content roadmap to be outlined in January.
