Overview
- runDisney confirmed on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 that the Springtime Surprise Weekend has been moved from April 15–18, 2027 to April 8–11, 2027.
- The organization said Club runDisney registration will still open June 30, 2026 and general registration will open July 7, 2026, as previously announced.
- runDisney unveiled a ‘Running Through the Years’ creative theme with race-specific motifs: the 5K (2000s/Wreck‑It Ralph), the 10K (1970s/Robin Hood), the 10‑Miler (1950s/Alice in Wonderland) and the Steamboat Willie challenge.
- Reporters note the earlier date may increase overlap with spring-break travel, which could speed up resort sellouts, complicate early-morning road access on race days, and make Lightning Lane and dining reservations harder to secure.
- Disney has not given a public reason for the schedule change, so runners should adjust travel plans now and other guests visiting in early April 2027 should consider booking hotels and dining earlier than usual.
