Ruby Franke, once a popular parenting vlogger, received a 60-year prison sentence for the abuse of her two youngest children, which included starvation and physical harm.
Franke blamed her children for their own abuse in jailhouse calls, suggesting they were 'full of evil' and difficult to manage.
In addition to blaming her children, Franke also pointed to her business partner, Jodi Hildebrandt, as a bad influence, though her stance on Hildebrandt changed over time.
Kevin Franke, Ruby's estranged husband, was unaware of the abuse, having been separated from Ruby and had no contact with his children for over a year.
Franke and Hildebrandt both pleaded guilty to four counts of aggravated child abuse, with each sentenced to spend at least four years in prison.
