Rubio Advances Security Coordination With Germany, Cyprus and Mexico on Venezuela, Iran, Ukraine and Trafficking

Overview

• Secretary of State Marco Rubio met German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul to discuss securing supply chains, preventing Venezuela from serving as a hub for adversaries, and advancing efforts toward peace between Russia and Ukraine.
• Rubio and Wadephul reiterated the priority of denying Iran the ability to develop or obtain a nuclear weapon and affirmed plans to deepen the U.S.–German partnership.
• Rubio spoke with Cyprus Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos about U.S. counternarcotics operations in the Caribbean and the ongoing protests in Iran.
