RTX Wins Seven-Year Pentagon Frameworks to Boost Tomahawk, AMRAAM and SM-Series Output

Multi-year demand guarantees aim to rebuild depleted stockpiles, spurring long-term factory investment.

Overview

  • Raytheon signed up-to-seven-year framework agreements with the Pentagon to scale five missile lines, the company announced Wednesday.
  • Annual output targets rise to more than 1,000 Tomahawks, at least 1,900 AMRAAMs, and more than 500 SM-6, with increased SM-3 IIA and accelerated SM-3 IB production.
  • Tomahawk production is slated to grow from about 60 per year for the U.S. to 1,000, while SM-6 rises from roughly 125 to more than 500.
  • Work will be performed at Raytheon facilities in Tucson, Arizona, Huntsville, Alabama, and Andover, Massachusetts.
  • The frameworks use a collaborative funding model that preserves upfront free cash flow, disclose no total dollar value, and reflect the administration’s shift to multi-year demand guarantees alongside recent Lockheed deals.
