RTL Orders Record-Long Seasons for Let's Dance and Dschungelcamp

The network unveiled the plans at the Screenforce Festival to mark milestone seasons, strengthen ad sales, secure exclusive talent and grow RTL+ originals.

Overview

  • RTL announced at the Screenforce Festival that its flagship shows Let's Dance and Ich bin ein Star – Holt mich hier raus! (Dschungelcamp) will run their longest seasons ever in 2027.
  • The 20th season of Let's Dance will be expanded as a special, anniversary edition while Dschungelcamp was described as receiving the "longest season ever," with exact episode counts and dates still to be released.
  • Food expert Sebastian Lege confirmed he will join RTL exclusively from 2027 and his VOX series Lege kommt auf den Geschmack will continue under the group.
  • RTL also previewed new primetime and streaming projects for RTL+, notably the historical-comedy Goethe vs. Schiller with Moritz Bleibtreu as Goethe and David Kross as Schiller.
  • The move is pitched to advertisers as a commercial play to boost live viewing and inventory, and it follows public attention on this year's Dschungelcamp season — including debate over Gil Ofarim — which helps explain the network's decision to scale its entertainment slate.
