• An RSPCA officer was called to a Salford flat at Bramhall Court on June 23 after a concerned party reported unattended tarantulas
• Rescuers found overturned plastic tubs and vivariums, many containing dead spiders and signs that others had escaped
• Four live tarantulas were recovered and placed with a specialist reptile centre for rehabilitation and ongoing care
• The former tenant, now in emergency accommodation, admitted abandoning the collection and signed over the remaining spiders to the charity
