Overview

  • On July 26, the RSF-led TASIS coalition unveiled a rival administration chaired by Mohamed Hamdan "Hemedti" Dagalo with Mohammed Hassan Osman al-Ta’ishi as prime minister.
  • The coalition reaffirmed its secular, decentralized vision under a charter that divides Sudan into eight federal regions.
  • General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan denounced the rival administration and vowed to fight until the Sudanese Armed Forces reassert control over the country.
  • RSF forces, although driven out of Khartoum in May, continue to dominate Darfur and other western regions.
  • The war has killed tens of thousands and displaced nearly 13 million people, fueling one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.
