Overview
- Kenneth Branagh will play Prospero in The Tempest at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre from May 13–June 20, 2026, directed by Richard Eyre with an official opening on May 26.
- Branagh will star as Lopakhin opposite Helen Hunt’s Madame Ranyevskaya in Laura Wade’s new adaptation of The Cherry Orchard at the Swan Theatre, running July 10–August 29 with a July 21 opening, directed by Tamara Harvey.
- Mark Gatiss will make his RSC debut in The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui at the Swan from April 11–May 30, adapted by Stephen Sharkey and directed by Seán Linnen, marking the company’s first staging of Brecht’s satire.
- Martina Laird’s Driftwood will premiere at The Other Place April 17–May 30, directed by Justin Audibert, before transferring to London’s Kiln Theatre June 3–July 4, 2026.
- A family-focused A Midsummer Night’s Dream, co-produced with Unicorn Theatre and directed by Rachel Bagshaw, plays Unicorn March 21–May 3 before moving to The Other Place June 19–August 30, 2026.
