RSC Unveils Lead Cast and Venue Dates for Matilda UK Tour

Lyricist Tim Minchin’s surprise rehearsal visit preceded the RSC’s unveiling of its four lead Matildas for a UK tour that includes confirmed Manchester and Bristol dates.

Overview

  • Madison Davis, Mollie Hutton, Olivia Ironmonger and Sanna Kurihara will share the title role of Matilda alongside Richard Hurst as Miss Trunchbull, Tessa Kadler as Miss Honey, Adam Stafford as Mr Wormwood and Rebecca Thornhill as Mrs Wormwood.
  • The tour is booked into Manchester’s Palace Theatre from March 26 to April 25, 2026 and the Bristol Hippodrome from June 2 to June 27, 2026.
  • Matilda The Musical opens at the Curve in Leicester on October 6, 2025 and will travel through Bradford, Liverpool, Plymouth, Sunderland, Edinburgh, Southampton, Birmingham, Norwich, Milton Keynes and conclude in Cardiff on January 17, 2027.
  • Final tour stops in Milton Keynes, Birmingham, Norwich and other venues will be announced by the Royal Shakespeare Company in September 2025.
  • The production has been seen by more than 12 million people in over 100 cities and has won over 100 awards worldwide, including 24 for Best Musical.
