Overview
- The Royal Shakespeare Company unveiled a digital Shakespeare curriculum for UK secondary schools at a London launch featuring Dame Helen Mirren and Sir Ian McKellen.
- The resource is free for all state and SEND schools and is now live with Macbeth as the first release.
- The programme reworks 10 frequently studied plays into a 24-part learning experience with teacher and student interfaces drawing on RSC archive materials.
- Rollout continues with Romeo and Juliet next, then two additional plays each academic year, with each title split into eight modules of three lessons.
- The RSC is targeting use in 80% of UK secondary schools by the 2029/2030 academic year, supported by funding from the Foyle Foundation.
