Overview

• RSASTF teams detained three residents of Prakasam district during a night combing operation in the Giddaluru Forest Division and recovered 26 logs hidden under a culvert.
• Officers also seized a motorcycle and moved the accused and timber to the Tirupati Task Force Police Station, where a case was registered and questioning began.
• The Prakasam operation was conducted under Task Force head L. Subbarayudu with SP P. Srinivas and RSI P. Naresh, with DSP Srinivasa Reddy and ACF Srinivas leading interrogation.
• A day earlier, RSASTF intercepted a lorry near Kavali on the Vijayawada–Chennai highway and seized 83 logs weighing nearly 2.5 tonnes, arrested one suspect from Haryana, and said the load was bound for Chennai.
• In a separate drive near Tirupati, officers confiscated two cars, seized 20 logs, and arrested one suspect from Karnataka as companion vehicles attempted to flee checkpoints.
