The deal includes a $250,000 signing bonus and annual salaries of $1.25M in 2025, $4.5M in 2026, and $7.5M in 2027, with a potential increase to $8M if he wins a Cy Young Award.
Ragans emerged as the Royals' ace in 2024, finishing fourth in AL Cy Young voting with a 3.14 ERA, 223 strikeouts, and 67 walks over 186 1/3 innings.
Acquired in 2023 from the Texas Rangers in exchange for Aroldis Chapman, Ragans has overcome two Tommy John surgeries to become a key piece of Kansas City's playoff-caliber roster.
