Royals Hire Ned Yost as Senior Adviser to GM

The franchise's winningest manager returns to Kansas City to support efforts toward another championship run.

Ned Yost, who managed the Royals from 2010 to 2019, has been named senior adviser to general manager J.J. Picollo.
Yost led the Royals to back-to-back American League pennants in 2014 and 2015, culminating in a World Series title in 2015.
The 69-year-old expressed confidence in the team’s progress and pledged to assist in building another championship-caliber roster.
The Royals have shown recent improvement, finishing last season with an 86-76 record and earning an AL wild-card spot.
Yost, inducted into the Royals Hall of Fame in 2023, will provide leadership and guidance across all aspects of the organization.
