Overview

• Stephen Hughes was reported missing from Bethel at around 8:30pm on August 12 and found dead in the Menai Strait shortly after 11:30pm that night.
• North Wales Police recovered the 25-year-old’s body, updated the coroner and said there are thought to be no suspicious circumstances.
• The Royal Welsh regiment issued a statement of “deepest sorrow” and confirmed that officers are supporting Hughes’s family.
• Hughes helped establish Lads Advice to support men’s mental health and the group joined colleagues in paying tribute to his kindness and care.
