- Royal Mail, which updated customers Thursday, listed delays at delivery offices serving Birmingham (B8–B10), Barry (CF62–CF63), Deeside (CH5), Leatherhead (KT21–KT24), New Ferry (CH32, CH62, CH63) and Prenton (CH43).
- The company cites high sick absence and resourcing gaps in a small number of offices and says it will rotate rounds and provide targeted support to restore service.
- Royal Mail says its national air and road network ran to schedule over the past 24 hours, yet customers in the listed areas can still expect some letters to arrive late.
- Regulatory pressure has grown since a £21 million fine in October for missed delivery targets, and owner Daniel Kretinsky told MPs last week he was sorry for late letters but said performance was not catastrophic.
