- Royal Mail, which listed delays Friday, said 29 postcode areas across the UK are facing late letters and parcels.
- The company reported a mail flight from East Midlands to Prestwick that turned back due to bad weather, slowing items bound for central and southern Scotland.
- A lorry moving mail from Glasgow to the Midlands Parcel hub arrived late, which Royal Mail said will delay items sent from G, KA, ML and PA postcodes to parts of London, the South East, the South West, the Midlands and Northern Ireland.
- Fourteen delivery offices reported local disruption in places such as Birmingham, Luton, Ilfracombe and Paisley, with Royal Mail rotating delivery rounds to cut gaps for any one street.
- The delays come after a £21m fine in October for missing 2024–25 delivery targets, with stamp prices rising on April 6 to £1.80 for First Class and 91p for Second Class.
