Royal Enfield Advances Himalayan Line With 750cc Twin and Electric Prototypes in Ladakh

Prototypes are undergoing high-altitude trials at Khardung La Pass to fine-tune performance for upcoming launches.

Overview

  • Himalayan750 prototype is powered by an air- and oil-cooled 750cc twin-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed gearbox and expected to deliver 50–55 horsepower and around 60 Nm of torque.
  • Adventure-focused chassis upgrades include USD front forks, a rear monoshock, wire-spoke wheels with a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear setup, and a twin-disc front brake configuration.
  • Electronic aids under evaluation comprise switchable dual-channel ABS, selectable ride modes, traction control, and a full-color TFT instrument display.
  • A production-ready version of the Himalayan Electric is slated to debut at the 2025 EICMA show with a targeted 2027 India launch and an estimated price of Rs 7–8 lakh.
  • Royal Enfield is also developing the Flying Flea C6 electric model with a projected market entry in March 2026.
