Royal Collection Trust Unveils Programme and Book for Queen’s Centennial Fashion Exhibition

Visitors can explore 200 garments alongside archival insights at Buckingham Palace’s King’s Gallery with tickets going on sale in November

Overview

  • Curator Caroline de Guitaut has released the full exhibition programme titled Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style plus an accompanying book, Queen Elizabeth II: Fashion and Style.
  • The show will run from spring to autumn 2026 at the King’s Gallery to mark what would have been Elizabeth II’s 100th birthday.
  • Around 200 items of clothing and accessories will be displayed, with more than half presented to the public for the first time.
  • Key highlights include the 1947 Norman Hartnell wedding dress, the Karachi state banquet gown featuring Pakistan’s national colours and early childhood ensembles.
  • Never-before-seen design sketches, fabric samples and handwritten correspondence will reveal the Queen’s hands-on role and soft-power strategies, and tickets go on sale in November 2025.
