Royal Caribbean Will Base Vision of the Seas in Baltimore for Summer–Fall 2027

Talks on a long-term Baltimore agreement remain unresolved.

Overview

  • Royal Caribbean confirms Vision of the Seas will shift to Fort Lauderdale in October 2026 and operate Caribbean sailings there through April 2027.
  • Company schedules show at least 20 departures from Baltimore between May and October 2027, including five- and nine-night trips to the Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada and New England.
  • Royal Caribbean’s booking site indicates the ship will be based in San Juan in late 2026 before repositioning to Baltimore for the 2027 warm-weather season.
  • Port of Baltimore leaders say a multi-year deal with Royal Caribbean is still in progress and they will seek other deployments to cover months when the ship is away.
  • Physical limits under the Chesapeake Bay Bridge restrict newer, taller vessels, shaping which ships can call on Baltimore as Carnival maintains a separate commitment there through 2030.
