Organisers and the band confirmed that Royal Blood will play a surprise 45-minute set at 2pm on The Gallery stage on Friday, August 28.
Frontman Mike Kerr told NME the band plans a deliberately 'brutal' and 'relentless' show focused on heavier songs to fit the short slot.
The appearance follows the duo's return to live shows in 2026 and will feature new material from their fifth album Dead Company, due for release on November 13.
Fans had speculated on a mystery Sunday guest spot before the announcement, but the official reveal moved the performance to an early Friday tent set.
Reading & Leeds runs three days with around 120 acts and roughly 100,000 attendees, and the surprise booking continues the festival's tradition of late additions that drive crowd draws and promote forthcoming tours.
