Rovanperä Pulls Clear in Paraguay as Tänak Puncture Shakes Up Order

Unforgiving gravel with shifting grip is making tyre management decisive in Paraguay.

Overview

  • After four Saturday stages, Kalle Rovanperä leads by 16.7 seconds over Adrien Fourmaux with Sébastien Ogier third at 17.2 seconds, followed by Elfyn Evans and Thierry Neuville.
  • Ott Tänak lost 36.8 seconds to a left-rear puncture on SS10, dropping from second to sixth at 49.1 seconds back after briefly closing to 8.7 seconds from the lead.
  • Fourmaux set Friday’s benchmark pace but lost the lead late to a puncture and could not replicate that speed on Saturday’s looser gravel.
  • Ogier rebounded from a Friday puncture by winning stages on Saturday morning to pressure Fourmaux, narrowing the gap to 0.5 seconds by midday.
  • In WRC2, Nikolay Gryazin moved past Yohan Rossel to lead by 6.7 seconds with Robert Virves just 0.5 seconds further back after the morning loop.
