Round Rock Mother, Associate Charged After Police Say 8-Year-Old’s Disappearance Was Staged

Detectives say the report was a ruse to avoid a custody order that triggered a large multiagency search.

Overview

  • Cailin Larissa Doyle, 43, was arrested after reporting her daughter as a runaway on Dec. 5 in Round Rock.
  • Investigators say Doyle and Karinna Ann Robertson, 36, hid 8-year-old Cadence to circumvent a shared custody agreement with the father.
  • Cadence was found safe on Dec. 6 at a gas station near I-35 and Old Settlers Boulevard, where authorities say Robertson abandoned her.
  • Doyle faces felony unlawful restraint, felony interference with child custody, and a misdemeanor false report; Robertson faces three felonies including abandoning a child without intent to return.
  • Sheriff Matt Lindemann said the false report triggered a resource-heavy search involving local, state and federal partners, and both women are being held at the Williamson County Jail.
