Roswell Air Races Set 2025 Competitor Lineup as Unlimited Class Withdraws

FAA accreditation through 2027 secures the Roswell races’ near-term future.

Overview

  • Organizers released the official field for the Sept. 10–14 debut in Roswell, confirming entries in Biplane, Formula 1, Jet, T-6 and STOL Drag.
  • The Unlimited Class will not compete in 2025, following the Sport Class’s earlier withdrawal, with both sides stating they will work toward an Unlimited return in 2026.
  • The FAA has accredited the National Championship Air Races to conduct multi-class pylon racing through August 31, 2027.
  • Following May’s Pylon Racing Seminar, 60 of 73 pilots earned certification, with class totals reported and an additional pre-event session planned to qualify more racers.
  • Course and venue preparations include routing two-thirds of the race area over the Brown Brothers Ranch under a long-term city agreement, plus buried power lines and expanded RV infrastructure.
