Rosie Jones and Lee Peart Report Ableist, Homophobic Train Attack as BTP Opens Probe

British Transport Police have opened enquiries after the comedians reported abuse on a Brighton–Victoria service.

Overview

  • The pair say three people mocked their voices, hurled slurs and threw wine from a plastic bottle during a Sunday night journey.
  • Lee Peart posted footage showing red wine splashed on the carriage wall as he documented the aftermath.
  • Officers responded at East Croydon around 10:30pm on 5 October, escorted the comedians home and began investigating.
  • Both said they were physically fine and thanked British Transport Police for support following the incident.
  • Detectives are appealing for witnesses to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 672 of 5 October.
