Rosaviatsia Eases Airport Restrictions as Vnukovo Reopens While Kaluga Introduces New Limits

Rosaviatsia says the rolling measures are required for flight safety.

Overview

  • By early January 4, Rosaviatsia lifted curbs at Vnukovo and Zhukovsky after a brief period when Vnukovo flights operated by coordination with authorities.
  • Limits were also removed at Saratov and Yaroslavl, and Ivanovo, Kaluga, and Tambov were cleared later in the morning before Kaluga reimposed restrictions in the afternoon.
  • Earlier actions included additional constraints at Krasnodar beyond published NOTAM hours and temporary measures at Gelendzhik that were later lifted with a stated readiness time.
  • Volgograd’s temporary limits were lifted on January 3, and one flight diverted to a reserve aerodrome during the restriction window.
  • Separately, Puerto Rico’s main airport reported widespread suspensions by U.S. carriers after the FAA temporarily closed parts of Caribbean airspace.
