Overview
- Rosatom said a cargo flight delivered the initial fuel assemblies for Unit 3’s first core loading in Tamil Nadu.
- The shipment was produced by the Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant, a subsidiary of Rosatom’s Nuclear Fuel Division.
- Six additional flights are scheduled to complete the full reactor core and reserve fuel under the current delivery plan.
- Rosatom noted Units 3 and 4 will operate with TVS-2M fuel on an extended 18‑month cycle following upgrades introduced at Kudankulam in 2022.
- The delivery coincided with President Vladimir Putin’s visit to New Delhi for a bilateral summit.
