President Joe Biden has ordered all U.S. flags on federal government buildings and property to be flown at half-staff for five days in her honor.
Public events honoring Rosalynn Carter will begin on Monday in Sumter County, Georgia, where she and former President Jimmy Carter were born, wed, and lived most of their lives.
A service for Rosalynn Carter will be held in Atlanta on Tuesday, followed by a final funeral on Wednesday at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains, Georgia.
Rosalynn Carter was known for her advocacy for equal rights and opportunities for women and girls, mental health and wellness for all, and support for caregivers.
