• McIlroy holed a roughly 27-foot eagle putt on the 72nd at The K Club to reach 17-under and force sudden death with Joakim Lagergren.
• After matching birdies on the first two extra holes, he won on the third when Lagergren found water and he closed with a birdie for the $1.02 million prize.
