• More than 200 nuisance reports were filed in recent days, largely in the Kroeven and Langdonk neighborhoods.
• After a Sunday escalation where heavy fireworks were thrown at municipal enforcers and police, two minors were detained and explosive fireworks were seized as the investigation continues.
• Mayor Mark Buijs set out measures including an APV change to prohibit public possession or use of fireworks, a face-covering ban with penalties, possible area and gathering bans, and fines that escalate for repeat offenses.
• The municipality will send warning letters to residents aged 10–18, invite arrested youths and their parents to meet the mayor, seek to recover damages—potentially from parents—and consider temporary home closures depending on the quantity and type of fireworks found.
• Roosendaal is maintaining multi-agency controls with police, fire services and the Public Prosecution Service, stepping up border checks, and joining the Meld Misdaad Anoniem campaign to encourage anonymous tips on storage, trade or transport of professional fireworks.
