Ron Washington Appointed as New Angels Manager

Ron Washington, 71, has been introduced as the new manager of the Los Angeles Angels, making him the fourth manager for the team in just over five years.
Washington, who previously managed the Texas Rangers and led them to end the Angels' dominance in the AL West, plans to 'run the West down' with his new team.
Washington's appointment comes after the Angels completed their eighth consecutive losing year and their ninth straight non-playoff season.
Washington is one of only two Black managers in the majors, alongside the Dodgers' Dave Roberts.
Angels general manager Perry Minasian, who worked with Washington in the Rangers, expressed confidence in Washington's ability to turn the team's fortunes around.
