Overview
- Atac workers in Rome will stage a 24-hour strike on November 14, with service guaranteed only from the start of service to 08:29 and from 17:00 to 19:59, and service not guaranteed from 08:30 to 17:00 and from 20:00 to end of service.
- In aviation, Volotea staff will strike for 24 hours and EasyJet crews will stop from 13:00 to 17:00, while ENAC will protect flights in the 07:00–10:00 and 18:00–21:00 windows as well as island, territorial continuity, intercontinental and public-utility services.
- After the stoppages, buses are expected to resume within roughly 30 minutes, while trams and metro lines may require up to two hours to return to normal operations.
- During the Rome strike, some station services such as escalators, lifts and ticket offices may be unavailable, selected night bus routes are excluded from the action and subcontracted lines are expected to operate regularly.
- Unions cite staffing shortages, denied leave, workplace conditions and union representation as key grievances, and student groups plan demonstrations in several Italian cities on the same day.
