Rome Judge Approves Plea Deals in Juventus ‘Prisma’ Case

The decision applies Italy's patteggiamento process to resolve the criminal charges pending a brief statutory window.

Overview

  • Suspended sentences were accepted for former executives Andrea Agnelli (1 year, 8 months), Pavel Nedved (1 year, 2 months) and Fabio Paratici (1 year, 6 months).
  • Juventus was ordered to pay a €156,750 fine, and settlements totaling €1,080,000 were reached with about one third of the more than 200 civil parties.
  • Former CEO Maurizio Arrivabene received a non luogo a procedere, ending the case against him in the criminal track.
  • Prosecutors had alleged artificial plusvalenze and salary maneuvers from 2019 to 2021 tied to market manipulation, false corporate communications, fraudulent declaration and obstruction of supervisory bodies.
  • The club said the plea bargains do not admit responsibility, and the rulings become final after the 15-day period for formalization.
