Romance Scam Rapist Sentenced to 12 Years in Prison

Christopher Harkins defrauded women of over £210,000 and committed multiple violent and sexual offences.

Harkins posed as a successful businessman to gain victims' trust on dating websites.
He defrauded nine women of more than £214,000 between 2013 and 2019.
Harkins was convicted of raping a woman and filming intimate acts without consent.
The court described his actions as leaving a 'trail of emotional devastation and financial distress.'
Harkins has been added to the sex offenders register indefinitely and banned from contacting his victims.
