Rolls-Royce Debuts One-Off Cullinan Cosmos With First Hand-Painted Starlight Headliner

The private commission through Rolls-Royce’s Dubai office showcases 160 hours of hand painting for a family’s special-occasion delivery.

Overview

  • An in-house artist painted the Milky Way-inspired headliner entirely freehand over more than 160 hours using over 20 layers of acrylic and specialized brushes, including a makeup brush for mist effects.
  • After the artwork was completed and sealed, artisans hand-punched and positioned the fibre-optic perforations to align with the painting’s contours.
  • The space-themed commission features Arabescato Pearl paint, a Charles Blue twin coachline, an illuminated Spirit of Ecstasy, and interior Charles Blue and Grace White leather with Piano White veneers.
  • Bespoke details extend to a Star Cluster motif embroidered on door panels and headrests and a hand-painted passenger fascia, with unique sill plates marking the one-of-one build.
  • The Series II SUV retains Rolls-Royce’s twin-turbo 6.75-litre V12 rated at about 563 hp with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic, while pricing for the commission was not disclosed.
