Rolling Stones' New Album 'Hackney Diamonds' Tops UK, Australian Charts

'Hackney Diamonds', The Rolling Stones' first album of new material in 18 years, featuring collaborations with Lady Gaga, Elton John, and others, achieves record sales in its first week and takes a historic step, tying with The Beatles and Bruce Springsteen for most number one studio albums.

Rolling Stones' new album 'Hackney Diamonds', their first album of original material since 2005, has topped both the UK and Australian charts within the first week of its release.
The album features collaborations with renowned artists such as Lady Gaga, Elton John, Paul McCartney, and Stevie Wonder, as well as contributions from former Stones bass player Bill Wyman and the group’s late drummer Charlie Watts.
'Hackney Diamonds' is also the Stones' first album since the death of drummer Charlie Watts in 2021. Watts features on two songs from the album.
The album secured the third largest weekly sales for an album in 2023, with 72,200 units sold in the first week, outselling the rest of the top five combined.
With 'Hackney Diamonds', the Rolling Stones have tied with The Beatles, Robbie Williams, and Bruce Springsteen for the most number one studio albums, making it their 11th album to hit the top spot.
