Roku acquires 'The Spiderwick Chronicles' series after Disney+ cancellation

Disney+ originally ordered but later canceled the series, allowing Paramount to shop it.
The show is based on the fantasy book series and follows the Grace family discovering mysteries.
Roku has now acquired exclusive U.S. rights and will premiere it in early 2024.
The series stars Christian Slater, Joy Bryant, and other ensemble actors.
It is described as a coming-of-age story and a modern fairytale for children.
