Overview

  • In his third Triple-A outing, Sasaki averaged 96.4 mph and touched 98.8 mph on his four-seamer, throwing 75 pitches over 3 2/3 innings for Oklahoma City.
  • Sasaki’s fastball produced two whiffs, while his splitter was more effective with seven swing-and-misses.
  • Manager Dave Roberts said Sasaki is "not quite there yet" and expects at least one more rehab start before he is considered for a return.
  • The rookie has been sidelined since May 13 with a right-shoulder impingement and was transferred to the 60-day injured list in June.
  • USA Today has reported he is unlikely to pitch in October due to lagging velocity and whiff rates, and the Dodgers’ six-man rotation gives them latitude to proceed cautiously.
