Rohini Court Bars Non-Lawyers From Legal Attire, Introduces QR Code Parking Verification

Mandatory clerk ID cards uphold professional identity by preventing touts from exploiting security gaps.

Overview

  • The Rohini Court Bar Association’s July 15 notice prohibits clerks, litigants and visitors from wearing white shirts and black pants, attire now reserved solely for advocates.
  • Member advocates must issue authorised ID cards to their clerks or face disciplinary action under the new RCBA directives.
  • A QR code–based parking system has been introduced to let litigants instantly verify genuine advocates before granting reserved parking.
  • The reforms follow security breaches in the Rohini court complex, notably the 2021 gangland-style killing of Jitender Gogi, that raised concerns over imposter threats.
  • Dhir Singh Kasana of the Saket Court Bar Association endorsed the measures and said similar rules are under discussion at other Delhi courts.
