Rocky Horror Picture Show Rolls Out 50th Anniversary Tour, Special Screenings and 4K Release

A sold-out sing-along at the Academy Museum on September 26 featuring Tim Curry alongside Lou Adler will kick off a Spectacular Tour leading into a 4K rerelease in theaters alongside home platforms October 7.

  • The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures will host a sing-along screening of the 4K-restored film at 7:30 p.m. on September 26 in Los Angeles with Tim Curry, Lou Adler and Sins O’ The Flesh in attendance, plus a standby line for latecomers.
  • The Rocky Horror Picture Show Spectacular Tour launches September 23 and visits 55 U.S. and Canadian cities through November 3, offering meet-and-greets and on-stage moments with Barry Bostwick, Patricia Quinn and Nell Campbell.
  • Disney’s restoration team spent ten months digitally scanning and remastering the cult musical, delivering Dolby Vision and Atmos-enhanced 4K film prints and a limited-edition SteelBook 4K Blu-ray and digital release on October 7.
  • Additional anniversary events include a fan convention at West Hollywood’s Roxy Theatre on September 27, a Cinespia outdoor screening at Hollywood Forever Cemetery on October 4 and a GRAMMY Museum panel discussion on October 15.
  • Collectors can celebrate with a deluxe anniversary soundtrack on 180 g red-in-gold vinyl arriving October 10 and a range of commemorative merchandise from Funko, Loungefly, RockLove Jewelry and other brands this fall.
