Rockwell Automation to Equip Lucid’s Saudi Plant With FactoryTalk MES

The software deployment anchors Lucid’s push to start full vehicle production in KAEC in late 2026 under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

Overview

  • Lucid will implement Rockwell’s FactoryTalk MES across general assembly, paint, stamping, body and powertrain shops to provide real-time visibility, traceability and control for future midsize vehicles.
  • Rockwell’s local team will deliver instructor-led and virtual training in Saudi Arabia to develop EV manufacturing capabilities in line with national industrial goals.
  • The King Abdullah Economic City facility is described by the companies as the country’s first vehicle manufacturing site as it moves from SKD assembly to full production.
  • Lucid reaffirms a late-2026 production start in Saudi Arabia, a ramp through 2027–2028, and a target of up to 150,000 vehicles annually by 2029, with most output intended for export.
  • Lucid shares rose roughly 14% to 18% on the news, reflecting optimism about the scale-up even as investors remain focused on execution and profitability risks.
