Overview
- Rockstar confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on 19 November with the game unlocking at midnight local time in each region, allowing earlier local starts and later starts elsewhere.
- Preloads begin on 10 November with PlayStation 5 downloads opening at midnight local time and Xbox preloads starting at 00:00 GMT, and consoles must be powered or in rest mode with auto-download enabled to complete the process.
- Rockstar lists a maximum storage requirement of about 212 GB for the game, which will require many players to delete titles or add SSD space to make room and to finish preloading.
- The game will arrive on PS5 (including PS5 Pro) and Xbox Series X|S in digital Standard (around €80) and Ultimate (around €100) editions; physical retail boxes will contain download codes and go on sale from 12 November while a high‑priced collector’s edition is also being offered.
- No official PC release date has been announced and mid‑2027 PC timing remains unconfirmed, a delay that follows a long gap since GTA V and raises risks of global spoilers because of staggered midnight unlocks.
