Overview
- Rockstar released the 90-second launch trailer on Thursday, October 15, 2026, and it prioritizes cinematic story moments over showing new gameplay systems.
- The clip centers on dual protagonists Jason and Lucia, framing the plot as an 'easy score' that spirals into a state-wide conspiracy and showing intimate scenes including Lucia wearing an ankle monitor.
- French electronic duo Justice are confirmed as the game’s original score composers and the trailer debuts the single 'Flower in a Hurricane' featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, which will appear on the official soundtrack.
- Rockstar reaffirmed a November 19, 2026 release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, the trailer footage is credited as captured on PS5, and no PC launch date has been announced although some outlets report a PC release could follow in 2027.
- The trailer arrives after weeks of leaked footage and ongoing labour and tribunal disputes at Rockstar and Take-Two, a context that shapes pre-release coverage and raises questions about online plans, studio staffing and the commercial stakes for Take-Two.
