Rockstar Backs NoPixel V With Invite‑Only GTA V Roleplay Beta

The studio’s endorsement hands a streamer‑first, invite‑only version of NoPixel to the Rockstar Games Launcher and could reshape expectations for GTA 6 Online.

GTA V roleplaying surged in popularity as modders built custom multiplayer servers, with NoPixel emerging as one of the community’s biggest and most influential names.

Overview

  • Rockstar publicly confirmed NoPixel V on September 1 and will run a closed beta that begins on September 8 through the Rockstar Games Launcher.
  • Initial access is tightly limited to roughly 439–450 invited streamers and roleplayers so most fans will only be able to watch launch streams.
  • Rockstar is running a Twitch Drops campaign from September 8–30 offering viewers up to GTA$1.5 million in‑game cash and a Burger Shot tracksuit cosmetic for watching NoPixel V streams.
  • NoPixel V includes specific gameplay and world changes such as a reworked character creator, the Pixel Hotel & Casino, a six‑block revamp of Cypress Flats, more reactive NPCs and the ability to buy many new properties, and it will not require third‑party mod tools to run.
  • The project, built over nearly three years after Rockstar’s 2023 acquisition of the FiveM (Cfx.re) team, keeps NoPixel Public and NoPixel 4.0 running unchanged and promises phased wider access though Rockstar has not disclosed how GTA 6’s online component will fit into this plan.
