  • Houston completed the deadline-day actions to keep both guards under team control for the 2026/27 season.
  • Thompson’s fourth-year option is set at $12,258,609, and Sheppard’s third-year option is $11,108,880.
  • Thompson, the 2023 No. 4 pick and a 2024/25 All-Defensive first-teamer, becomes extension-eligible in 2026 and is averaging 14.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists through four games.
