Rockefeller Christmas Tree Begins Journey from Massachusetts

A Norway spruce from West Stockbridge will soon light up New York City, marking the first Massachusetts tree since 1959.

The 67-year-old Norway spruce was planted in West Stockbridge, Massachusetts, in honor of the homeowner's nieces.
This year's Rockefeller Center Christmas tree is the first from Massachusetts in 65 years.
The tree is scheduled to arrive in New York City on November 9 and will be lit on December 4.
It will feature 50,000 multi-colored lights and a Swarovski star, remaining on display until mid-January.
Local excitement has drawn visitors, including tourists from Denmark, to see the tree before its journey.
