Rockefeller Center's 2025 Christmas Tree To Be Installed Saturday, Lighting Set for Dec. 3

Visitors can meet the 75-foot Norway spruce during on-site family activities at Rockefeller Center.

Overview

  • The 75-year-old, 75-foot Norway spruce from East Greenbush will be cut down Thursday at 8 a.m. and transported to Manhattan on a flatbed truck, donated by the Russ family.
  • The tree will be set up at 30 Rockefeller Plaza on Saturday during a free Meet the Tree event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with advance signup encouraged.
  • Family programming features a celebration of A Charlie Brown Christmas, including a Peanuts coloring station and a Make-Your-Own Snoopy station from Build-A-Bear.
  • The Dec. 3 lighting will feature roughly 50,000 multicolored LEDs on about five miles of wire and a three-dimensional Swarovski star weighing about 900 pounds with 70 spikes and 3 million crystals.
  • The display runs through mid-January 2026, after which the tree will be milled into lumber for Habitat for Humanity, and Holiday Top of the Rock tickets Dec. 4–Jan. 10 include a privileged viewing area.
