Rockefeller Center Launches 'The Beam', Recreating Iconic 1932 Photo

- Rockefeller Center in New York City has launched 'The Beam', an interactive experience that lets visitors recreate the iconic 1932 photo of 11 ironworkers sitting on a steel beam during the construction of 30 Rockefeller Plaza.
- The Beam experience, which launched in November, lifts visitors 12 feet above the observation deck and rotates 180 degrees to offer a view of Central Park and beyond, more than 800 feet below.
- Visitors are securely strapped in for safety, and the beam remains above the observation deck the entire time.
- Tickets to 'The Beam' cost $25 as an add-on to the general admission fee for the Top of the Rock observation deck, which ranges from $40 to $55 for adults.
- The Beam experience is part of a broader renovation and expansion project at Rockefeller Center, with other forthcoming additions including the 'Skylift', a glass-enclosed viewing platform, and the 'Rooftop Beacon', a spherical installation.
