Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lights Up for 92nd Annual Ceremony

The 74-foot Norway spruce, donated by a Massachusetts family, was illuminated during a star-studded event hosted by Kelly Clarkson.

The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, a 74-foot Norway spruce from West Stockbridge, Massachusetts, was lit on December 4 during the 92nd annual ceremony.
This year's tree was planted in 1967 by Earl Albert and his late wife, Leslie, and was donated in her memory, marking the first tree from Massachusetts since 1959.
The lighting ceremony, hosted by Kelly Clarkson, featured performances by the Backstreet Boys, Jennifer Hudson, and the Radio City Rockettes, among others.
The tree is adorned with over 50,000 multicolored LED lights strung across 5 miles of wire and topped with a 900-pound Swarovski crystal star.
Despite a nearby fatal shooting earlier in the day, NYPD ensured the event's safety with a significant police presence, and the ceremony proceeded as planned.
